Dr. Carl Haywood, Director of Choral Activities and Mr. Terry Butler, Assistant Director of Choral Activities

Norfolk State University Concert Choir is known for the beauty of its choral tones and ability to render exemplary performances of choral works of the great masters.
Under the direction of Dr. Carl Haywood, the choir has performed at Oberlin College, Ohio, New York University and Saint Thomas Church in the City of New York, and the Washington National Cathedral, Washington, D. C.
Norfolk State University Concert Choir is composed of two smaller choral groups: The Spartan Chorale, formed in 2002, and known as the “President’s Own,” for the President of Norfolk State University and the Chamber Choir, created in 2003. The Chamber Choir, directed by Mr. Terry Butler, was formed to broaden the outreach and versatility of the choral programs. The Concert Choir is a perennial favorite of concert-goers.
The concert is open to the public. A free-will offering will be received and a reception will follow the concert.
